Raleigh, NC
The Raleigh Affiliate has been blessed to have 3 people from our area complete the online course this summer! We have gained 2 new team members in the last year who took the course in 2010, but our team continues to be in need of more men and women interested in spreading the good news of God’s gift of sexuality to families. No matter where you live in the Raleigh diocese, you can take the online course.Areas outside of Raleigh also need to be served, so we are looking for parish groups to take the course and start new teams. Mark your calendars! Events this year where Family Honor – Raleigh will be present include the 3rd annual Life Conference on Saturday, September 24 (www.prolifeeventsnc.org), and the 9th Annual Benefit for Life Gala on Friday, October 7 (www.bflgala.com). The Benefit is a united fundraiser for several pro-life ministries, including Family Honor-Raleigh, and currently our only source of funding. Rev. Paul D. Scalia, Pastor of St. John the Beloved Parish in McLean, VA will be the guest speaker.
We will also be at the yearly Diocesan Catholic Convocation on October 15 in Raleigh (www.dioceseofraleigh.org), where we have been asked to be part of a speaker panel of pro-life outreach ministries. This year’s theme is Love and Life in the Divine Plan. The keynote address with be delivered by Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, Archbishop of Louisville and Vice President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the Principal Celebrant and Homilist will be the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Raleigh.

We are in the process of booking programs for 2010-2011. In addition to program delivery in Georgia, we will also present a program in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

We are gearing up for the program year as well and also exploring the possibilities of piloting a re-designed Family Honor program in our area.
In addition, we welcomed a new program presenter, Kelly Winter, who recently completed the Family Honor online course and who has begun her Internship with us.
