Try Family Honor’s NEW Online Program Registration

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

This year, Family Honor is making it simple for parents to register for one of our eye-opening and family-bonding programs.

Family Honor’s 2012 – 2013 program year is underway and there are some amazing opportunities for parents and their teens to spend time together and talk about some of life’s most important issues, like chastity, sexuality, and the real meaning of love.

Introducing:  Online Registration

With more than 30 programs booked in close to a dozen states so far, Family Honor has just launched ONLINE REGISTRATION for all of our programs. Registering yourself and your child for one of our programs takes less than 5 minutes.

Once you’ve filled out the online form and submitted the information, you will receive an email confirmation with the name of the program, the date, the location, etc. It couldn’t be easier!

Family Honor programs provide a special opportunity to spend one-on-one time with your child; give you accurate and age-appropriate language to use; and share tools and resources with you so that you have the confidence you need to connect with your child about sex, love, chastity, and more.

Decide which program is right for you and your child:

Leading & Loving: Designed for parents of younger children, this program will assist parents in the formation of faith, values, and virtues.

Changes & Challenges: This program, geared towards 5th or 6th graders and their parents, helps families understand the “changes and challenges” of puberty and provides resources and tips for raising happy, healthy and holy children.

Real Love & Real Life: For 8th graders and their parents, this program discusses the real meaning of love, growing in virtue, fertility appreciation, developing one’s whole self (SPICE) and much more.

S = developing Spiritually; P = developing Physically; I = developing Intellectually; C = developing Creatively; E = growing Emotionally

Register now to attend a program near you and be sure to tell your friends about these amazing programs!

Read the FREE New Online Parent Resource

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Parents, do you ever wonder how to talk about “sex” in a way that conveys that it is much more than body parts and functions?

A Booklet Especially for Parents

Family Honor is making available FREE, Sex and Chastity: What’s a Parent to Say? This is an outstanding resource for parents who are looking to find the right words when talking with their children about sex and chastity.

This booklet is written to give a fuller, God-centered view of sex and chastity. There is great hope in the knowledge that sex is truly about who we are as masculine and feminine images of God, and that the secret of all genuine sexual relationships is love that is Christ-like in its expression.

Help With Teaching Chastity

Chastity is a virtue that can be attained and that gives great joy when possessed. We can want nothing less for ourselves and for our children. May we, as parents, rely on a love for our children which “casts our fear,” which “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.” (I Corinthians 13:7)

Our Gift to You!

In this free and easy-to-use resource, our prayer is that parents will be able to find the words to talk with their teens about chastity and God’s gift of sexuality. This 5-page resource will demonstrate that chastity is not just for teens, but for everyone! Download or print your copy today!

Sign Up Today – NEW In-Person Weekend

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012

Family Honor is pleased to announce an exciting change in our college-level course, “The Truth and Meaning of Sexuality, Love, & Family: Cultural Implications.” Beginning with the spring 2013 semester (which begins on January 3, 2013), the final session will be an in-person weekend in Columbia, South Carolina in April!

Join Us In South Carolina!

For your convenience, 80% of our course is still online, however we know that nothing takes the place of an in-person classroom experience. Thus, we think you’ll love what we have planned for you during the new final session!

In addition to a dynamic and interactive classroom time with your fellow students and the course instructors, on Friday evening and during the day on Saturday, the final in-person weekend session will offer a unique opportunity for students to visit our Family Honor headquarters and meet other Family Honor staff, board members, and presenters.

An exciting bonus includes a presentation of segments from Family Honor’s parent-child program, Real Love & Real Life.

The in-person weekend will also include the celebration of Holy Mass after the class concludes on Saturday and a buffet dinner party for those in attendance Saturday evening.

This special weekend promises to be a great time of fellowship, encouragement, and networking!

Dates to Remember

The 2013 Spring Semester begins on Thursday, January 3, 2013 with the online course material; although there are assignment deadlines, you may access this material throughout the spring semester at the time most convenient for you – day or night!

The class will conclude with the in-person weekend in Columbia, SC on April 19 and 20, 2013.

The deadline to register is Friday, December 14.

Read what some former students have said about the “Cultural Implications” course:

• I believe The Truth and Meaning of Sexuality, Love & Family: Cultural Implications will make me a better husband and father. The course has really helped me begin to internalize the “language” of a right understanding of sexuality.  – David, Spring 2012 Semester

• I never expected this course to be life-changing! The way I look at my marriage, my vocation as a wife, my role as a parent, and my responsibility as a Christian have all changed because of the Cultural Implications course.   – Jessie, Spring 2012 Semester

• Through Family Honor’s Truth and Meaning of Sexuality, Love & Family: Cultural Implications course, I have come to appreciate and understand that the key component when presenting the material to adolescents is parent involvement! Reading all of the supporting material for this formula, it is hard to believe that there are sexuality education programs that do not involve the parents!   – Viola, Spring 2012 Semester

Please visit our web site for more information or to register.

Note to Prospective Students

If you are unable to travel to South Carolina for the final class session, please call us at 803.929.0858. Also, don’t worry if you’ve never taken an online course – the material is very easy to access!
