Leading & Loving Webinar a Hit with Parents!

Coming Soon: More Programs
Family Honor’s most recent webinar proved to be a big hit with parents who joined in the session held on Tuesday evening, May 19 via Zoom.
Co-hosted by Family Honor Presenter Jeannie Weaver and our Director of Programs and Training, Vincent Weaver, the free webinar provided parents from five states (South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Illinois) a technology-enabled version of Session 1 of Family Honor’s Leading & Loving program.
The Leading & Loving program is designed for parents who have young children up through age 10 or 11 and who want some help in introducing their children to Saint John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and who also need help answering children’s questions about sex, babies, love, and boy-girl differences. (No child attended the webinar.)
At the start of the session, participants were briefly introduced to the mission and work of Family Honor, then they watched a brief video regarding being created male and female in God’s image and developing as a whole person. Jeannie and Vincent took turns leading parents though some workbook exercises, all the while sharing insights about their own family life and how they have talked with their daughters.
Participation by the parents was encouraged at various points during the one-hour webinar and most were eager to do so! At the end of the session, a survey of the parents indicated that they are interested in more webinars, which they appreciate for the convenience, and also more in-person programs, since that provides opportunities for aditional fellowhip for parents.
Family Honor’s next webinar will be held on Tuesday evening, June 16, starting at 7:30 pm Eastern time. That webinar will be for parents together with their 7th or 8th grade son or daughter, and the focus will be on healthy ways of communicating in the family so that no one loses their ‘cool.’ To register for this FREE webinar, go to: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/real-love-real-life-communicating-with-your-teen-tickets-103731208838
Additional webinars are planned over the Summer months, and will include a Changes & Challenges session for parents who have children in 5th or 6th grade, and a follow up to the Leading & Loving webinar, with a Session 2.
In Person Programs Resume This Fall
Family Honor remains committed to respond to your needs and the type of programs you want. Although you are (like we are, I’m sure!) adjusting to new approaches for work, social time, family life, and attending church, we know that you still want faith-based programs, answers, and resources to assist you as you help your child or teen navigate the dangerous waters of the culture in which we live.
Thus, in addition to our Summer webinars, we are starting to book some in-person programs at parishes for the Fall, 2020, and also into Winter and Spring, 2021.
We will, of course, adjust as community, parish, and individual health concerns require, whether that means limiting the size of our programs, how they are delivered, or where they are delivered.
Family Honor’s mission is to provide a Catholic framework on the truth and meaning of sexuality, love, and family. This means we deliver parent-child programs AND continuing education for adults on subjects ranging from: raising virtuous children, chastity education, strengthening family life, fertility appreciation, parent-child communication, and peer pressure to gender identity confusion, the problems with pornography, the benefits and dangers of social media for teens, and more.
In any event, all of us at Family Honor want to hear from you. What do you need as a parent? As a pastor? As a ministry leader?
Please call us at 803.929.0858 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org We look forward to hearing back from you! Thanks and God bless!
