Family Honor kicked off our 2018-2019 program year with a well-attended Real Love & Real Life program at St. Michael’s parish in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Nearly 40 families participated in the program, which is designed to bring parents and their 7th or 8th grader together at the same time, in the same program, to hear and discuss topics together relating to chastity, virtue, Christ-like love, theology of the body, friendship, future dating, peer pressure, healthy communication in families, and more.
Feedback from parents attending the program was overwhelmingly positive, with one parent echoing a comment Family Honor has heard countless times over the years: “I wish this program was available when I was growing up in the Church.”
In addition, two parents who attended the program expressed interest in registering for Family Honor’s online course which starts in a few weeks. For more information on that course, go to:
Presenters for the Family Honor program included J and Tonia Seth, Dan Rogers, Chris Courson, Mary Daly, and new presenters Dr. Peter Bleyer and Amy Krainas. In addition, Father David Nerbun, Vicar for the Office of Family Life for the Diocese of Charleston, SC, attended much of the program on Friday evening and during the day on Saturday.
Family Honor programs in the coming months will be presented in South Carolina, along with our current active affiliate areas in Florida, North Carolina, Atlanta, Alabama, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. In addition, we’ll be traveling to California in February to deliver a program.
If you’re discouraged by much of what you see happening in today’s culture, may we recommend a Family Honor program as something positive and hopeful you can do for your family and your parish?
We’ve been the trusted name in family-centered chastity education for 30 years and we have different programs to fit your parish needs. Consider starting off with our Leading & Loving program, especially if you have a lot of parents of younger children at your parish: https://familyhonor.org/programs/leading-loving/
