Providing a Catholic framework on the truth and meaning of sexuality, love, and family

Read About Family Honor at the WMOF!

From the beautiful opening Mass to the superb quality of speakers to the dazzling array of exhibitors, the World Meeting of Families (WMOF) had something for everyone and Family Honor was overjoyed to be there, with an exhibit table of our information in the Exhibitor Hall.

During the week of September 21-27, over 20,000 pilgrims came to Philadelphia from 100 countries across the globe to participate in this once- every-three-years-event. It was quite wonderful to see and speak with people from around the world! (Note: This was the first WMOF held in the U.S. The next meeting will be in 2018 in Dublin, Ireland!)

Some memorable moments:

* Seeing a group of men and women from Africa in clothes made of the same green material and pattern, riding down the escalator in the Convention Center, singing loudly and joyfully;

* Bishop Barron hurrying through the exhibit area on the opening day of the conference

* Witnessing the long line of priests, bishops and cardinals process in for the opening Mass on Tuesday evening (the processional took almost 30 minutes!) while the powerful voices of the choir sang the entrance song.

* Walking by the EWTN set each day in the Convention Center as their staff covered the WMOF.

* Stopping to chat with: Bishop Robert Baker, Damon Owens, Teresa Tomeo, and others from around the country that I don’t get to see too often;

* Speaking with all the wonderful people that stopped by our Family Honor booth to ask questions, say hello, sign up for more information, or pass along a word of encouragement. Speaking of which … we’ve got a lot of work to do, following up with new contacts across the U.S. and in Canada, England and Nigeria. Stay tuned, and in the meantime, enjoy these photos from the WMOF!
