One of Family Honor’s most significant recent efforts was presenting our weekend course, Understanding the Human Person, entirely in Spanish for the first time ever! The purpose of the course is to help parents, ministry leaders, and others be better prepared to promote and defend Catholic church teaching on current moral issues. It is also the first step in preparing those men and women who would like to become Family Honor Presenters.

We are happy to say that 24 Spanish-speaking men and women attended the class, which was held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC the weekend of Feb. 3 and 4, 2023.

Of these, eight men and women have indicated a willingness to become Program Presenters for Family Honor and thus have moved to their next step of training, which includes several post-course assignments.

The amount of time and effort that went into preparing for the class was tremendous, since six of our current bilingual Presenters delivered various talks for the first time as new Course Instructors. (Plus, five of the Course Instructors traveled from out of state, coming from Tennessee and Alabama.)

Please pray for all the men and women who are continuing their training to present our programs to Hispanic families, and for our bilingual Presenters who are mentoring them. This is a challenging but very important effort.

Family Honor is now in the process of coordinating our next Understanding the Human Person continuing education class for a new round of interested adults. This course (which will be in English) will be held on June 2 and 3, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lake in Chapin, SC and is co-sponsored by the Diocese of Charleston Family Life Office.

We encourage parents, ministry leaders, and single adults to register for the class, especially those who work with families and youth. For additional details, go to: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/understanding-the-human-person-chapin-sc-tickets-586043360467 or call Family Honor at: 803.929.0858.
