Family Honor was back in the Charleston area for the first time in several years to deliver a Real Love & Real Life program!

Approximately 40 families attended our program on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at St. John the Beloved in Summerville. Organized by St. John’s Director of Religious Education, Lisa O’Rourke, with help from other staff at St. John’s, the program was for the Confirmation students and their parents to attend together.

Real Love & Real Life featured a variety of skits, videos, PowerPoints, and audience participation on topics such as virtue, Christ-like love, peer pressure, the Theology of the Body, and the journey of life. A primary goal of the program is to equip and empower parents and also to encourage their teens to speak with their moms and dads on sensitive moral issues.

It’s wonderful to report that, for the teens who responded to our survey, 100% agreed that the program helped them better understand their sexuality and chastity and the program will also help them better communicate with their parents on these topics.

Amazingly, since we currently don’t have a local team in the Charleston area, we were able to put together a team of experienced Family Honor Presenters who traveled from Raleigh, North Carolina, Augusta, Georgia, and Winter Park, Florida to deliver the program, and we are most grateful for their sacrifice of time and their sharing of talent.
